IPL won't have the same feel abroad: Tendulkar

Auckland, March 23 (IANS) Sachin Tendulkar Monday said Indian Premier League (IPL) on foreign shores would not have the same feel as it had last year.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at an emergency meeting Sunday decided to hold the Twenty20 tournament outside the country after the state governments expressed their inability to provide security to the tournament as it clashes with the general elections.
Tendulkar, who is the captain of the IPL team Mumbai Indians said he is disappointed with IPL being held abroad.
'It is disappointing that IPL has been moved out of India,' Tendulkar said. 'We will miss playing in front of our supporters. It won't be the same.
'IPL had a good concept of playing home and away matches. This is something that the teams will miss this time around. Wherever we play, we hope to have the same fervour that we had had last season,' he said.
Yuvraj Singh, the Kings XI Punjab captain, too, said the second edition would be different.
'It is sad that the IPL won't be held in India. But it is the decision of the board and we will have to follow it,' Yuvraj said.
'We were looking forward to play at home, now we have to play away so we feel sad for a lot of Indians who were looking forward to watch it. Anyway if we were playing in India, a lot of home games were shifted to other centres. So it was not actually a home game or away game.'

‘Four things come not back, the spoken word, the sped arrow, past life and the neglected opportunity’. Director Prabhu concentrates on the potency of the spoken word in Laadam set to release this Friday. Whatever you say can come round like a boomerang to get you when you least expect it to, discovers the protagonist of the movie after something that he says threatens to mess up his life. The lead character is being played by debutante Aravindhan. The female lead is the Telugu sensation Charmi who has a few Tamil films to her credit some years back.

The span of the story is just 16 days, consequently the Telugu version of Laadam has been titled 16 Days. Because of its set time frame, we can expect a racy narrative from the director. Though the look and feel of the film has suggested an action thriller of sorts with goons and gangsters, we do not have a concrete idea about the genre of Laadam.Kota Srinivasa Rao will be seen as the villain in Laadam. One knows that given a good role, this veteran can really turn in a power packed performance. Others in the cast are Manorama, Citti Babu and Nellai Siva. Dharan’s music has received a reception that can be termed as ‘not bad’ and might serve as a strong point to the movie. But most importantly, Laadam is being looked forward to because it has given hints of being a bit different from the usual fare, also because it is being handled by Prabhu Solomon who had managed to garner healthy appreciation with his debut flick Lee.

In fact, 1977 might be one of the most expensive films in Sarath Kumar’s career. Though much has not been revealed about its storyline, we know for sure that the movie will be a thriller with plenty of high adrenalin pumping actions and liberal doses of glamour provided by the lead ladies.The highlight of the film includes the introduction song shot with more than 500 junior artistes and dancers, the power-packed gun fight between Sarath Kumar and 40 baddies, a chase sequence that features some of Malaysia’s best known stunt artistes, a climax that has over 100 Malaysian police vehicles and personnel that was shot for 11 consecutive day and nights close to the Petronas twin towers. 1977 also includes a song that was shot lavishly on a set that was erected at a cost of Rs. 40 lakhs.Literally, the producer has not spared any expense to make the film a rich and engaging fare. Mohanlal back again as a singer

Superstar Mohanlal's upcoming movie is with one among the notable directors of current time Blessy. The film is titled as Bharamaram. This new film will feature Mohanlal as a lorry driver in the high ranges. This will be director Blessy's first attempt to make a thriller movie and this new movie will feature south indian actress Bhoomika Chawla as the heroine.
The shooting for the film is currently in progress and one of the major highlights of the movie will be that Mohanlal is singing a song in it. It was Blessy's previous Mohanlal starrer Thanmatra in which the Superstar have last sung a song. Among the other stars in Mollywood, Mohanlal is considered to be a better singer and have sung more number of songs than any of them.
The recording of that particular song was held last week at Cochin and it will be picturised as Mohanlal singing it to a child. This peppy melody written by Anil Panachooran and composed by Mohan Sithara will be a treat to the viewers of this film. The trak will also feature some flash back sequences of Lal's character.
