Times of India interview

How serious is your knee injury? Is it a setback ahead of your French Open title defense?
It’s for sure a setback. I haven’t had the preparation I wanted, but there’s nothing I can do about it. Injuries are the most frustrating thing about being a professional tennis player, but you just have to accept that they are part of the game. But I have to stay positive. I didn’t play many matches before the French Open last year either.
Almost one year after winning the French Open, how do you look back at the victory?
It’s for sure the highlight of my career so far. It was amazing to win my first Grand Slam and become No.1 in the world for the first time in just 48 hours. It was an amazing experience and something I look back on with a lot of joy and pride.Tennis has seen a number of early retirements/burnouts, the latest being Justine Henin.
How do you counter the stress of a top-flight tennis player?
I think it’s very important to have the right balance. I cannot comment on other players because I don’t know about them and everyone is different. But for myself, I can say that I have some interests away from the court, for example studying finance and learning Spanish, and I always make sure I have some time to relax and recover. At times I feel like I don’t have enough time to myself, but I’m working on that!

Moz And Cat : Review

Quite frankly speaking, this new Dileep starrer is nothing but a major disappointment. The whole package looks dull and outdated, the storyline is confusing and lacks clarity, the situations are jaded and artificial, and most of the performances are quite ordinary. Screenplay is the much weaker link in the movie and the dialogues sound contrived and melodramatic.
The major advantage with this film is that it have introduced a new heroine to Malayalam, Aswat

In the technical part, the major let down is from the director of the movie, Fazil himself. It can be quite clearly stated that the veteran director is nowhere near to his golden times. This film can be considered as his worst movie till date. Rest of the team were simply ok with their own jobs. Music of the movie conducted by veteran Ouseappachan can be considered as a descent one when compared with the others.
All in all, this new Dileep starrer Moz And Cat is a boring one with the same old cliched story. I prefer you to stay away from the theatres where this movie is playing.

Hrithik Roshan impresses Barbara Mori!

As per Hrithik's dad, producer-director Rakesh Roshan, he had met Barbara Mori in America last month. During a three day period Roshan Sr., accompanied by director Anurag Basu, had a series of meetings with Barbara. He narrated the story of his proposed film (tentatively titled KITES) and also told her in detail about the Hindi film industry and its functioning.
As maybe recalled, Rakesh Roshan has recently signed international actress Barbara Mori, opposite his son Hrithik Roshan, for a project to be directed by the talented director Anurag Basu, who has given successful and well made films like MURDER, GANGSTER and METRO. This is for the first time that Anurag Basu will direct a film under the Filmkraft banner and the project is already in the news for its unique pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori.

KITES: It's Anurag Basu Vs Rakesh Roshan

It's learnt that the KITES producer is giving Anurag a tough time by trying to control his every move. Anurag, who is used to his style of working, is apparently not too happy with Sr. Roshan's behaviour. But, given the fact that the film is almost complete, Anurag has no choice but to be patient.
Well, we are sure Anurag will be missing his days with the Bhatt camp.
After reading about Rakesh-Roshan and Anurag-Basu's love-hate relationship for long, things are actually looking positive for the makers of the upcoming film KITES. Now, Anurag Basu is all excited about his trip to Cannes to showcase his film to the buyers there. Speaking exclusively to Regionalcinemastills.blogspot.com before he jets-off to Cannes, the maverick director said, ''I'm all excited about this marketing move and we plan to showcase KITES to potential buyers in order to reach wider audiences.''
Well, after films like GANGSTER and LIFE IN A METRO everyone in the industry is awaiting Anurag's new release which hopefully might get the Cannes edge.

Passenger : Movie Review

According to my view, this film is a worth one to watch. This film is all about a fateful night that changed the lives of some people in a convincing manner. This film, which is an edge of the seat thriller succeeded in keeping the intricacies of the narrative intact. All the credit for the makers of this film, for making it in such a good manner.
The major plus point with this film is that all the actors in the film have performed to their level best. The acting skills of Sreenivasan was once again proved. Mamta and Nedumudi Venu palyed their roles very well. Dileep, after a bunch of wasteful characters have got a powerful role to perform. Jagathy's role as the villian is also a treat to watch.
In the technical part, all the credits must be given to the debutant director for his excellent work. He have done an excellent work in presenting the story as an engrossing thriller. Even though, the film has its loose ends in the script it is not at all a bad one when compared with some of the recently released movies.
All in all, this new film Passenger is a must watch. I promise, it won't be a let down and also this new film features a strong message to the people of current society. This film will surely end up it's run as a good notable one.
